2004 was very special for the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. A special exhibit featured Ferrari Formula One race cars for every decade that the famed company participated in the series. 2004 was also the year Ferrari was the featured marque at the Monterey Historic Races and the cars from the Maranello manufacturer celebrated all over the Monterey valley.
1969 Ferrari 312 F1
A total of 12 312 F1s were built for the 1966 to 1969 Formula One racing season. This example, chassis #019, achieved modest success with its best result a third in the Dutch Grand Prix.
The 312s featured 60° double overhead cam twin spark plug V12 engines displacing 2989.5 cc. (182.35 cubic inches). Output varied from 360 to 435 horsepower. Earlier versions of the motor featured two valves per cylinder; eventually three valve and four valve designs were incorporated.
2003 Ferrari F2003-GA
The 2003 Ferrari F2003-GA headed up the Ferrari Formula One display. The day before fans at the Monterey Historic Races were treated to exhibition laps by the factory test driver.
