The maximum is 4 steering wheels, minimum is 1/2 steerng wheel. A site is
awarded 1/2 steering wheel if it doesn't cause a browser to crash. Sites are given a 4
steering wheel rating if the editorial content, production, and art is excellent. We give a
priority to editorial content, meaning that it is possible to be awarded the coveted 4
steering wheels if and only if you have something to say and you say it well. Call it
"substance over style" if you like.

Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars
A well done site documenting the history of Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars. Includes a
biography of Rolls-Royce founders Charles Stewart Rolls and Frederick Henry Royce,
and Bentley founder Walter Owen Bentley. There's an "interesting facts" page with
anecdotal tidbits such as "After singing the praises of Rolls-Royce Cars over tea with
Henry Royce, an aristocratic lady asked, as an afterthought, 'but Sir Henry, what would
happen if the factory at Derby produced a bad car?' Sir Henry answered, 'Madam. the
man on the gate would not let it out of the works.'. Also included is a well done technical
description of all models including the first, a 10hp 2 cylinder model for which a "A
silencer was provided of dimensions sufficient to reduce the exhaust noise to a nearly
inaudible rustle." Worth a visit even if you are not a fan of the marque.

Mini - The Official Site
Over produced site with a lot of technology that is not in keeping with the original spirit
of the Mini, which was recently voted the most recognizable car in the world. Includes a
brief bio of Sir Alec Issigonis, the original Mini designer. Be prepared for technical snafus.
The Vintage Triumph Register
Official site of the Vintage Triumph Register. Good maintenance handbook and technical
articles. Events listing, classified ads, club info.
The TVR Sports Car
Nice autobiography (no pun intended!) of TreVoR Wilkinson, the father of TVR cars.
Interesting, if clumsily produced factory tour page. Although it is loosely organized and
confusing (kind of like the car itself!) this site contains a lot of useful information about
this quirky sports car manufacturer, which despite all odds, manages to survive.
The Wedge Site
A generous helping of well organized Triumph TR7/TR8 information. An excellent
"wedge history" section, with a production history chapter, described as "A challenging
endeavour" by the author. Great technical stories, market place, registry, etc. Worth a
visit even if you are not a fan of the last production Triumph.
Aston Martin Lagonda - The Unofficial Site
Stylish site with an excellent listing of Aston Martin models and specifications, but
not a lot of detail. Includes a brief history of Aston Martin.
Big Healeys
Well executed site with superb artwork. Especially interesting is the manner in which all
the Big Healeys' color choices (exterior and interior) are illustrated. Nicely presented
historical information, although more DIY articles would be appreciated.

well as news/events pages make this site a must visit for EV enthusiasts.
What is EV1?
GMs' site for the EV1, arguably the most advanced electric car available. Contains a
generous amount of technical specifications and descriptions. As can be expected from a
corporate web site, electric car issues are not dealt with. Good looking site, except for the
"click here" portions of the links.
Saab Sonett
Saabs of the 1970s were usually homely creatures, possibly explaining the old joke "SAAB = Sad Attempt At Beauty". A definate exception is the Saab Sonett III. An exceptionally good looking car tragically overlooked by many enthusiasts. Lots of good information put together by a serious enthusiast.
Wankel Rotary Combustion Engines (WRCE) and Vehicles
Well researched site documents the history and developement of the
venerable rotary engine. Uncludes bio of inventor Felix Wankel, as well
as articles on racing, theory, wrenching and well known applications
such as the four rotor Corvette, aviaton, marine, motorcyles,
snowmobiles, lawnmowers and even a chainsaw!

The home page of Tom and Ray Magliozzi, (aka Click and Clack, the tappet brothers)
who host a popular car talk program on National Public Radio. Professionally done site
features a large selection of Real Audio clips from their show, a trivia contest and past
columns. Not a lot for the car enthusiast, but the entertainment value is high.
Jim Hockenhull's Microcar Page
Another in the admirable "labor of love" category, Jims' page gives a good overview of
the increasingly popular microcar segment. Emphasis is on Messerschmitts, but others
are covered.

Bugatti. Includes an interesting document exempting the Bugatti EB110 from certain
American crash test requirements.
Chevrolet Nova Internet Source
Just when you think you've seen everything on the 'wwweb, along comes the Chevrolet
Nova Internet Source. More than you wanted to know; this page is more than you
thought was possible to know! Well done and a proud member of the
The Useless Pages listing.
Highway 17 Page Of Shame
Unfortunately one of the cleverest pages on the web has gone idle. A San Francisco bay
area commuter posted examples of bad driving (called "Jerque du Jour") found during his
daily commute and, complete with photographs, made up the site. Still a worthwhile visit
for frustrated commuters everywhere.
D.U.D.S. -- Database of Unsafe Driving
"Don't get mad, get even" is the motto. Examples of bad driving are listed here by
location. Useful as a sane alternative to road rage.
MORON DRIVER
An incredibly funny site and sadly true. Features some of the best animated GIFs to be
found on the web. A total of 13 categories, from "General Driving Rules" (You always
have the right of way.) to "Automotive Maintenance Tips" (An old rag is the perfect
substitute for a missing gas cap) to "Highways" (When at a toll booth, always ask for
directions, even if you know where you are going). Excellent execution and humor.
STRICTLY VINTAGE VW's
Fascinating site with a generous amount of photos, facts and history of vintage VWs.
Information on available reproduction parts. Clearly a labor of love.
Bimmers.com
Motto: "By BMW Enthusiasts For BMW Enthusiasts" Excellent coverage of the
1600/2002 models, although the later models have pages that seem to be "under
construction". Don't visit this site if you are in the yuppie/gold chain/status seeker
catagory. Over use of frames is a problem. Also, the designer does not seem to believe in
titles . . .
BMW Automobile Enthusiasts Page
Solid practical and without a lot of unnecessary frills; sort of like the car itself. Contains
want ads, club info, DIY, repair and technical notes. Not a lot of graphics, so download
time is minimumal. What a concept!

Everything (and more!) that you could possibly want to know about that great American
past time, the vanity license plate.
Concept Car Collection
Highly (overly?) styled site featuring concept cars. Could use some text editing work.

WELCOME TO THE AQUACAR INTERNET SITE

luck. Site does feature a nice (albeit biased) history of amphicars.

Consumer oriented car maintenance site. Good maintenance tips; other areas seem to be
"under construction".

classified ads, members cars and club listings.
BRYCEMAN'S OLDSMOBILE PAGE

LOT of Oldsmobile history and technical information. Could be better organized and
needs the services of a copy editor.
Saturnalia - The Saturn Enthusiasts Site
Well designed site is easy on the eyes but lacks hard-core enthusiast content. Good
mainstream information, but if you like to take your Saturn apart, there isn't much help
here.
Nomads on the Net
Good information and research on the 2 door Chevy station wagon produced from 1955
to 1958, although we're told the '58s were Nomads in name only. Contains facts and
figures, club info, value guide, cars for sale, etc. Frame usage could be optimized however.
MY CLASSIC CAR ONLINE
Homepage for the tv show. Good restoration/mechanical tips. Online magazine effectively
deals with collector car issues. Seems to cover post war American cars exclusively.
Merchandising is a bit much, but then those bills do have to be paid . . .
Top Gear: Home
Automotive page from the BBC, so production is slick. A number of well done tests of
(expensive) cars, good racing (mostly F1) coverage.
The Camaro Homepage
Covers the first generation ('67, '68 and '69) Camaro only. Lots of well presented, well
written historical information. Rare and special Camaros such as the COPO (Central
Office Production Order) and Yenko cars are well documented. Another successful labor

American Motors from 1968 to 1970. The AMX files also has a generous helping of
AMC history and one of the best VIN/ID numbers page we have ever seen

Nice overview of Corvette history from beginning ("September 1951: General Motors'
chief stylist Harley Earl takes a Le Sabre to the Watkins Glen sports car race. Earl is
impressed with the Jaguars, Ferraris, and Alfas, and decides to begin designing a new
American sports car") to present. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.
Access Corvette-1st Choice For Information The Idaho
Corvette Page
Contains more than you ever thought was possible to know about Corvettes. For
example, in 1967, 20 cars were shipped with the L88 (427 cu. in., 430 hp) engine. Covers
all years and aspects of Corvette ownership. One very impressive site.
Vettes On The Net
Good specifications listings. Good looking site if you like black backgrounds (I don't).
National Corvette Museum
Find out what to expect when you, along with 500,000 other people each year visit the
Bowling Green Kentucky premier museum, located 1/4 mile away from the Corvette
factory. Not the site to visit if you are looking for Corvette information.

Excellent DIY hot-rodding information. Does an excellent job with the basics, an often
neglected viewpoint. Much of the material can be applied to all makes and models, a sign
of a well done site. Great FAQ and classified ads section. Useful for beginner and hard-
core enthusiasts.
Tom's Ferrari Restoration Page
Ever fantasized about restoring a Ferrari? Tom is doing exactly that to a 1963 Ferrari 330 America and is sharing the details. It is organized like a diary and therefore has a nice personal touch.
