Right, bottom to top: 1977 to 1982 Corvette line up. These were tough years for the Corvette - and all car manufacturers - as smog regulations had sapped much of the performance (and some say soul) of America's sports car. For this reason, the mid '70s to early '80s are not considered to be premier collectables by the Corvette community. But there is an upside to the situation. If you're looking to make a Corvette part of your life and your budget cannot accommodate one of the blue chip 'vettes, there is hope. Corvettes of this vintage do have a lot to offer at very reasonable prices.

the clean air act of 1970 stole the power from the american muscle / sports cars. this car is a great choice for a classical american sports car. i have an orange corvette and i paid only 5000 dollars for it. great car but don't expect an automatic transmition(unless it has been updated later and is no longer stock).

Chartreuse?
I wonder how they came about with that color for 1977, the only time it ever appeared on a Vette and they only made one of them! Talk about a collectors item :-) I suppose they had difficulty in making the paint or applying it (perhaps faded faster than anticipated?) so they scrapped it. Would be interesting to track this one-of-a-kind model down!

Jimi did own two Corvettes, the first being a 1968. More info at http://phscollectorcarworld.blogspot.com/2012/05/lost-star-cars-jimi-hendrix-corvettes.html

1977 Corvette
The easiest way to spot a 77 Corvette is by looking at the flags on the hood. The 1977 is the only year from the C3 Gen that the flags are not crossed.
